About the Item
Beautiful white marble bust, finely worked, portraying a Roman senator. The work captures with great precision the physiognomic features of the subject, reflecting the distinctive characteristics of Roman sculpture typical of the late Republican era (2nd-1st century BC). The sculpture shows the half-bust of the man, dressed in a toga, whose drapery is executed with great mastery. The highly expressive face is characterized by serene eyes, a prominent nose, a small mouth and well-defined curls. In an excellent state of preservation, this bust exudes an elegance capable of enriching any environment with taste. Neoclassical manufacture from central Italy attributable to the late 18th century.
