About the Item
Large bust of Jean Baptiste Poquelin known as "Moliere" made in a single block of Carrara marble, after a model by Houdon, in the 19th century. To create Moliere, head turned, attentive eyes, thin mustache, full lips, open collar. The admirable twist of the scarf tied at the front gives the work a brilliant touch of elegance. This imposing bust, made in the 19th century, measures 84cm in height and 68cm in width. He weighs about 100 kg. Very good condition and very nice patina.
