About the Item
This vintage museum quality hand carved white Italian marble sculpture dates from the late 19th century. The sculpture features the bust of a young woman, beautifully rendered by famed artist A. Piazza. It is an exceptional work of art in very good condition. She is dressed in period clothing
wears a stylish bonnet. A banner, titled “FARFALLA” is draped off her left shoulder. The sculpted bust rests upon a secure base that allows it to be spun 360 degrees. The sculpture may be removed from the base
stand on its own. The back of the sculpture is signed A. Piazza Carrara.
