About the Item
An exceptional true pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. patinated bronze, ormolu and Black Belgian marble statuettes of Apollo and Daphne. Each small scale statue is raised by pierced ormolu supports with handsome paw feet and palmettes. Above the square Black Belgian marble bases are molded sculpted bands and circular tapered central support columns. Apollo and Daphne are each raised by an ormolu socle pedestal and display intricate attention to detail and richly chased expressions.
