About the Item

An impressive and most decorative set of French 19th century Louis XVI st. Grand Tour period Walnut, marble, faux painted marble, and ormolu busts and pedestals. The large central bust depicts a Roman Emperor with a laurel branch wreath in his hair, a cloak over his shoulder, and is raised by a striking faux painted Verde marble pedestal support with a Fine mottled border. The smaller ormolu busts are raised by Fine Rouge Royale marble bases with wrap around mottled borders and richly chased ormolu personages above of a gentleman in a cape and a beautiful young woman with curly hair wearing a dress. At each side are striking columns raised by a square Noir Antique and Rosso Levanto marble bases below circular Vert Maurin marble supports with beautiful mottled ormolu plinths and striking finely detailed ormolu personages above. Large Bust: H: 12.5" L: 7" D: 5.25" Small Busts Dimensions: H: 6.75" L: 3.25" D: 3" Pedestal Dimensions: H: 9.75 L: 1.75" D: 1.75".
