About the Item

Italian plaster cherub with polished agate coral wings on an 18th century Italian gilded candlestick base with polished agate slices. The Italian 18th century gilded base is originally from an altar candlestick from a historical Italian church. The plaster angel is hand-crafted and adorned with the fossil agate coral wings which coordinate with the fragment base. The base is encrusted with the polished agate to appear as if the piece evolved together over time.  The piece is put together by Jean O'Reilly Barlow, the artist and creative director of Interi. The date of manufacture reflects when she created the piece and the period shows that the candlestick base is originally 18th century. The fragments have been joined with the natural specimens to create a historically significant, figurative, and sculptural work of art.
