About the Item

18th century Italian gilded hand-carved fragment crest mounted on a golden, polished hematoid slab and adorned with baroque pearls. The gilded fragment was originally from a historical Italian church. It is mounted on the hematite crystal which is a type of quartz that features inclusions of hematite, an iron ore compound. The piece is put together by Jean O'Reilly Barlow, the artist and creative director of Interi. The date of manufacture reflects when she created the piece and the period shows that the Italian hand-carved gilded crest is originally 18th century. The Italian gilded artifact has been put together with the gems and minerals to create a sculptural work. *Includes a lucite stand or can be adjusted with hardware to be hung on a wall upon request.
