18th Century Neapolitan Crib Figure Collection A rare collection of five museum quality late 18th / early 19th Century hand carved Neapolitan crib figures. All wearing their original silk / velour and cotton clothing. Hand carved from sectioned piece of pine wood with articulated joints for change of posture. Origin: Naples, late 18th century. Material: Fabric and wood Age: 18th / 19th century Size: Height 16” x Width 5” x Depth 4” Condition Report These are aged items that has stood the test of time, some have been overpainted at some point (man with sandals has had his feet repainted). There is loss of painted sections and some loss to detail as shown. The clothing is worn and aged naturally with missing detail also. Mounted onto newer black painted bases for support and display purposes. Its exceedingly difficult to photograph all the areas of these pieces, therefore we strongly suggest reviewing all the photos provided as part of this advert and propose questions where sections are unclear to avoid disappointment upon purchase. For multiple years we have sold antique and vintage items globally, please expect our items to show relevant age and natural wear, Items are only restored due to breaks and loss, and we always stipulate this in our condition report.
