About the Item
A charming mid-century art glass figurine attributed to Jaroslav Brychta for Železný Brod Sklo, dating to the 1950s. This hand-crafted sculpture depicts a nobleman or rural gentleman, captured in a dynamic pose with one hand resting on his hip and the other lifting his hat.
Executed in richly colored Bohemian glass, the figure features a clear textured blouse, warm yellow trousers, brown boots, and a sculptural purple hat accented with a turquoise feather. The face is delicately modelled in amber-toned glass with applied details. The figure stands on a beautifully shaped green glass base with swirling internal patterns typical of Brychta’s expressive style.
A wonderful example of mid-century Czech glass artistry, this figurine embodies the playful and characterful designs for which the Železný Brod Sklo school and Brychta’s studio are celebrated. A collectible piece that adds personality and craftsmanship to any interior.
