Pierre Louis Détrier (French, 1822–1897) This fine patinated bronze sculpture by Detrier depicts a mother and child. The attention to detail can be seen in the delicate treatment of the clothes and the expression of the mother. The baby is seen struggling, reaching out to his mother. She is seen with a gentle expression and carefully holds her child’s body. A sculpture that summonses an atmosphere of warmth love and protection.
