About the Item

Decorate a wall or dress a over-door with this elegant antique sculpture. Crafted in southern France circa 1860, the element depicts an ornate, gilt decorative wood wall mounted carving featuring a central basket overflowing with intricately carved flowers and foliage. The basket sits atop an elaborate base with elegant curves, flanked by two smaller floral arrangements on either side. The entire design showcases a Louis XVI style, with high attention to detail in the sculpting of each leaf, petal, and decorative flourish. The sculpture is excellent condition and adorns the original gold leaf finish which gives it a luxurious and antique appearance. Originally, this carved element was probably at the pediment of wall mirror. 33"W x 26.5"H
