About the Item

Old Paris porcelain sculpture figural group Depicting a French noble man sitting besides a table with a bottle and a book on it Very expressive piece Hand crafted and enameled with lively colours A sculpture fully handmade, distinguishes itself from other porcelain figurines from the period Origin France 19th century Condition: Perfect but with a bakingflaw in the neck of the figure (see pics) Marked under the base Achille Bloch Origin France H 7.9" in. x W 5.5" in. x D 6.3" in. H 20 cm x B 14 cm x D 16 cm In 1887, Achille Bloch and Léon Bourdois returned to the capital of the Clauss factory( Paris) From Eugène Clauss in 1890, they became the only owners until the departure of Bourdois in 1900 leaving the Manufacture in full ownership to Achille Bloch. The collection evolves: fireplace fittings, vases, vases, boxes and bonbonnières with multiple shapes, busts and statuettes, cane heads, cups and decorative plates. This type of manufacture was followed by Achille Bloch and Léon Bourdois until 1900, then Achille Bloch alone until 1926.
