About the Item
A wonderful, bronze bust/head sculpture of the Benin warrior Oba King, the first ruling King Father of the 16th century Kingdom of Benin (in present-day Nigeria) which was one of Africa's greatest historical kingdoms. The work depicts the king as a regal male figure, embodying the immense power and authority granted and entrusted to him by his people. He was quite a commanding figure.

We are listing the piece as early to Mid-20th (1900s) Century but it could be older.
A hefty, powerful piece with a gorgeous patina. Would make for an eye-catching stand-alone art accent sculpture in about any setting.
