"Acadmia"
A beautiful bronze gilded plaster sculpture depicting an ancient Greek hunt scene of a shepherd and an eagle.
The Shepherd is depicted as protecting his sheep from the eagle.
The plaster has been signed and dated 1936.
About the Sculptor - We find different ways of writing for his name, such as Antonio Amorgasti, Amorganti or Amorgasthe. It was all about the pseudonym of Antoine Amorgasthe who was born in Antwerp in 1880 and died in the same city in 1942. He was of course a sculptor and studied at the Berchem academy. He is known as an animal sculptor.
