An unusual and expressive antique Asian ceramic sculpture depicting a male figure locked in playful struggle with a stylized dragon or mythological beast. The hand-formed work features the figure rendered with a smiling face, clasping a staff as the dragon presses closely against him, its body richly incised with swirling motifs. The glaze combines earthy brown tones with contrasting white, highlighting both the beast?s dramatic texture and the figure's animated features.
