About the Item

An antique bronze figure of Lorenzo De Medici, after Michelangelo, inscribed ‘Michel-Ange’. This well made and patinated antique bronze, raised on a green marble plinth depicts ‘Lorenzo de Medici’, a 15th century Italian Statesman and the powerful ruler of the Florentine Republic. He is depicted deep in thought, and is deserving of its nickname “Pensieroso” or “The thoughtful one”. The original by Michelangelo is on the tomb of Lorenzo de Medici in the Chapel of San Lorenzo in Florence. Italian. Circa 1890
