A very fine Grand Tour bronze sculpture.
Modeled after the 'Crouching Venus' by Giambologna.
Depicting Venus surprised at her bath with an overturned urn at her feet. Mounted on a slate and variegated marble plinth.
Simply a wonderful bronze sculpture!
Provenance: From the estate of Catherine Spencer Eddy Beveridge (who was a Socialite and Philanthropist, wife of Senator Beveridge of Indiana, and the niece of Marshall Field) and by descent in her family.

It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition.
Condition Details:
There are chips and flakes to the edges of the slate portions of the plinth, some very fine
light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
