About the Item

This antique bronze sculpture was done by R. Bahnert and made in France in circa 1890 in the Victorian style. The cast bronze figures are extremely detailed and depict a large man wearing a long coat pointing and chuckling at a squatted woman urinating in public, who was originally using a parasol to attempt to shield his view. Unfortunately the parasol is missing. The front of the man's coat opens to expose his genitalia which adds a rather perverse and erotic element to this sculpture. The bronze plaque on the front is done in French, and the sculpture is clearly signed on the back "Baynert". The casting sits on a polished marble base.
