This Art Deco figural sculpture depicts an elegant young woman in repose, affectionately petting a Borzoi (Russian Wolfhound). Crafted in France during the 1930s, the piece is made of polychrome chalkware (hand-painted plaster) and features the stylized, streamlined aesthetic typical of the period. The woman is dressed in a collared blouse and a flowing green skirt, reflecting the chic daywear of the era.
The sculpture is signed "Boni" on the base and bears the stamp "S.A.P. Déposé" alongside the model number 2014. "S.A.P." stands for the Société des Artisans Plâtriers, a French workshop renowned for producing high-quality decorative plasterwork during the Art Deco movement.
