Austrian Bronze Figure "Weightlifter" by E. Hagenauer
This Austrian metal sculpture, from the renowned Werkstätte Hagenauer Wien, features the Art Deco and Modernist design characteristic of the brand, simplifying the human form to flat silhouettes and defined contours. The weightlifter is depicted in an athletic and dynamic pose, hanging from a barbell with spherical weights at the ends, held aloft with both arms extended above his head, while his legs are in a crouched position. The body is a single piece of smooth, polished metal with a bright finish that reflects the light. The figure rests firmly on a flat, rectangular base of the same polished material, to which it is attached by its feet with bolts and plates that add a subtle industrial detail.
