About the Item

The patinated bronze sculpture standing on naturalistic circular base, signed 'L. Grégoire' on base Jean Louis Grégoire (French, 1840-1890) was born and died in Paris. Training under Salmson at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, he exhibited at the Salon from 1867 to 1890 and became one of the first Associates of the Artistes Français.
