About the Item

It wasn't easy trying to title this bronze in one sentence. The first thing about it to my eye is the wonderful whimsy displayed. The fact that it's a thermometer just adds to the joy of it. Showing the young girl's feet at the bottom of the thermometer put a smile on my face. The bronze is artist initialed L.M.S. Sorry to say that simply wasn't enough information for my research team to definitely say who was the artist. However helping us understand the sculpture, it is dated 1911 and the letter "c" enclosed in a circle does tell us that it was made here in the U.S.A. That mark represents the word "copyright" and that gives us the answer. where it was made. A really fun, well done bronze figural working thermometer for the connoisseur.
