About the Item

The Anthropomorphic Cabinet is a bronze sculpture inspired by Salvador Dalí, depicting a stylized human body transformed into a cabinet with multiple drawers. Each drawer, positioned on the torso, chest, and thighs, symbolizes layers of the subconscious and hidden memories, reflecting Dalí’s interest in psychology and the influence of Freudian psychoanalysis. The sculpture combines smooth and textured surfaces, creating a visual contrast that evokes the balance between order and chaos, consciousness and the unconscious. Originally conceived in 1973 and cast in bronze in 1982 by the Foneria Mibrosa foundry in Barcelona. The golden bronze patina adds depth and presence, while the elongated, stylized form of the body reflects Dalí’s distinctive surrealist language. This sculpture is ideal for collectors of modern and surrealist art, as well as for those interested in symbolic and psychological pieces. It can be displayed in a gallery, office, or contemporary interior, serving both as a decorative object and as an invitation to reflect on identity, memory, and the hidden aspects of the human psyche.
