Bronze Sculpture by Líbero Badii, Abstract Figure
An authentic sculpture by the Italian-Argentine master Líbero Badii (1916–2001). Badii, an emblematic figure of 20th-century Argentine art, combined a classical craft learned in his father's marble workshop with a contemporary and profoundly symbolic vision. His work ranged from stone and bronze carving to polychrome wood assemblages, developing in the 1960s and 70s what he called "sinister art": an aesthetic that rejects the classical in search of a more primitive, evocative, and universal plastic language.
This work belongs to that unique tradition, where European heritage, Latin American sensibility, and a universe of meanings that transcend the merely decorative converge.
