About the Item

A fine patinated bronze sculpture of a Native American warrior on horseback by the celebrated French artist and sculptor, Èdouard Drouot (1859-1945). Signed E. Drouot to base with foundry mark 'Etling, Paris' to side. Edouard Drouot was a successful French painter and sculptor, born in Sommervoire in the Haut Marne region in 1859. He exhibited at the French Salon from 1889 into the twentieth century, mostly working in bronze, producing sculpture from Native American inspiration and allegorical figures as well as wildlife works.
