About the Item
In this listing you will find a fine art bronze sculpture of St. Anthony of Padua with the Child Jesus by Yugoslav sculptor Ivan Mestrovic. This is one of Meštrović’s most iconic religious themes, which he modeled in multiple versions across media.
Sculptural language:

- Rough surface treatment
- Elongated proportions
- Vertical monumentality, characteristic Meštrović religious period style (1910s–1930s)
The base of the sculpture is done in travertine.
This is not a modern decorative reproduction, souvenir, devotional reproduction, tourist cast, or commercial decor bronze, but a museum grade sculpture, cast posthumously, in the second half of 20th Century.
