Busto in legno dorato della seconda metà del XVII secolo che rappresenta Marco Aurelio, imperatore, scrittore e filosofo romano. Egli fu imperatore dal 161 fino al 180, anno della sua morte, essendo considerato un "sovrano illuminato", il quinto e ultimo dei cosiddetti "buoni imperatori", nonostante il suo regno fu colpito da guerre, carestie e pestilenze. Marco Aurelio fu ricordato anche per essere stato un importante filosofo storico, autore dei "Colloqui con sé stesso".
