An unusual Murano Glass Head Sculpture, made in Italy, around the 1970s
A striking hand-blown Murano glass head sculpture produced in Italy during the 1970s. Executed in deep cobalt blue glass with applied clear glass details (face features as the lips, the nose and eyes and ears), the sculpture presents a highly stylised and expressive human face. The elongated form, smooth surfaces, and refined facial features reflect the experimental and sculptural approach characteristic of Murano glass production in the postwar period.
