About the Item

A refined sculpture, entirely handcrafted from a single block of fine Statuario marble. Each piece begins with the careful selection of the marble, chosen for the purity of its tones. The collector can participate in the selection from a variety of marbles, onyxes, and quartzites, becoming actively involved in the material selection process. The sculpture is meticulously carved entirely by hand, capturing the delicate texture of the petals, with some areas reaching extremely thin thicknesses that demand exceptional craftsmanship. Created in a limited edition of only 12 pieces. Dimensions: D 12 x H 12 cm. Available in different marbles, onyx and quartzite. Limited edition of 12. Each rose is hand signed and numbered by the artists (engraved), 100% hand made in Italy and comes with a "Certificate of Authenticity " Marble is a natural material, every piece is unique as each marble block is different in veins and color shades. All of our creations are handmade by Italian artisans and can slightly vary in shape and size. This is to be considered as a guarantee of a handmade object. All Pieruga objects are made of precious and natural marbles and onyx. Marble is sensitive to acid-based liquids, especially a prolonged contact with substances such as wine, lemon, vinegar, fruit juices, cola and alcohol can stain the surface. Cleaning should be carried out with a soft sponge, water and neutral detergent. Do not use metallic or abrasive sponges, do not wash in the dishwasher, do not use in the microwave. The color of the marble after washing can undergo variations due to the humidity trapped in the surface’s micro-pores. Once fully dried it will regain its original color. The brass inlays tend to oxidize over time, to make them return to shine again use a soft cotton pad soaked in a solution of water and traditional Marseille soap, gently rub over the brass inserts and rinse the surface thoroughly. We are against the use of chemical products, all Pieruga objects are processed and polished through long manual processes without the use of polishing liquids. Pieruga marble is a new brand by Barberini Gunnell. The Atelier Barberini Gunnell was founded by the architects and designers Francesco Barberini and Nina A. Gunnell. The artworks by Barberini Gunnell are regularly shown at international art fairs, such as PAD London, PAD Genève, PAD Monaco, Salon Art + Design New York, Art Miami. IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING SHIPPING: We carefully pack all artworks in strong wooden crates to ensure safe transport. This service is done directly in our atelier and is complimentary. All of our artworks travel with a shock watch system in order to monitorate rough handling by shippers and movers.
