This charming Mickey Mouse figure, sculpted by the talented Peter Mook under the official Walt Disney license, is a must-have piece for collectors and nostalgia lovers. Made in the 2000s by Rutten, this polychrome resin figure with epoxy has remained in excellent condition over time, becoming the perfect piece to enhance any space with the timeless charm of Mickey Mouse. Designed to sit on the edge of any shelf or mantel, this piece captures the famous cartoon character in a fun and relaxed pose, adding a touch of Disney magic to your home decor. With his classic red shorts and smiling expression, Mickey brings joy and nostalgia to any room, making him a perfect addition for collectors and Disney fans alike. Peter Mook is an English sculptor who has been active since graduating with honours from university in three-dimensional design in 1993. He worked for Minster Giftware in China for several years creating ceramic, resin and cast iron designs ranging from teapots and doorstops to mirrors and lamps. In 2000 he began working with Dutch manufacturer Deco Design, based in the Philippines, where he lived and worked for almost 10 years. It was during this time in the Philippines that Peter was approached by Warner Bros to become an approved artist, after which Disney, King Features, Marvel and Microsoft soon followed, making Peter one of the few worldwide to be approved as an artist by all major licensing groups and giving him the opportunity to work with many licenses such as Looney Tunes, Mickey and Friends, Betty Boop, Garfield, Mr Bean, Winnie the Pooh, Popeye, Dennis the Mennis, The Muppet Show, Sonic, Halo, Classic Marvel and Wolverine and the X-Men. The process of transforming Peter Mook's mind into a 3D sculpture begins with carving the form. He sculpts using Chavant Wax, which is then molded using silicone rubber and poured into polyester resin. Chavant Wax is a wax-based clay that does not dry out or shrink. Because of these properties, it is perfect for sculpting. Between 1996 and 2010, Peter Mook produced hundreds of figures. During these years, Peter Mook collaborated with Mr. Rutten to distribute his works. The sculptures that Peter Mook created during this period are among the most sought after in the world. The arrival of the crisis in 2007 had consequences for Peter, who from 2010, no longer able to find full-time work as a sculptor, had to train as a tiler, which he did for 18 months until he was finally able to return to sculpting. In 2013, Peter Mook collaborated with Border Fine Arts, a company owned by Enesco. During this time, he created “A Moment in Time” and several Marvel pieces for Enesco. He currently receives private commissions and is close to finishing creating a line of his own designs. This collection will include animal sculptures, human figures, wall art, lighting and busts. All in all, this Mickey Mouse statue is a classic piece that reflects Peter Mook’s ability to combine his technical prowess with the fun and charm of Disney characters. It is a work that not only highlights the art of sculpture, but also the magic of the characters that have marked generations.
