Carved in Normandy, France circa 1820, this large two-piece devotional antique sculpture depicts a serene female figure in adoration. Crafted from solid pine, the antique statue shows the woman standing gracefully with hands crossed over her heart, her flowing robe cascading in soft, natural folds. The figure rests upon a separate base carved in the form of swirling clouds, symbolizing heavenly ascension. The piece is distinguished by its fine sculptural detail, particularly the delicate rendering of the face, the long wavy hair, and the draped garments.
