About the Item

19th century, Italian. A fine quality Grand Tour Brooch. Featuring a high relief carved lava stone with large central putti figure adorned with grape vines and roses. An intriguing small dog appears to be licking the putti on the lower right. The brooch is encased in an 18k yellow gold frame (unmarked) and accompanied with a Tiffany Company jewelry box - which per the estate this piece was acquired from; the brooch was purchased from Tiffany in NYC during the 1950's.
