A graceful French 19th century Louis XVI st. patinated bronze and Rouge Griotte marble statue of a maiden dancing with cymbals, signed Clodion. The statue is raised by a circular Rouge Griotte marble base with a fine mottled border. The wonderfully executed patinated bronze statue above depicts a charming beautiful maiden joyously dancing around a tree trunk. She is draped in a richly chased period garment and wears her hair in an updo with cymbals in her hands. All original warm and rich patina throughout.
