A handsome and richly sculpted French 19th century white carrara marble bust of Demostene. The statue is carved out of a solid piece of white carrara marble and displays the subjects name at the front. With wonderful details and facial expression. Demosthenes was a Greek statesman and orator of ancient Athens. His orations constituted a significant expression of contemporary Athenian intellectual prowess and provided an insight into the politics and culture of ancient Greece during the 4th century BC.
