From our Bronze Sculpture collection, we are delighted to offer this French Bronze Female by Jean Verschneider and Etling Paris.
This Art Deco bronze, circa 1920, depicts a nude young woman holding a basket of oranges, offering one in her outstretched arm. She stands gracefully upon a stepped green marble plinth, her head tilted gently to one side, with her hair adorned with flowers and tied back. The sculpture is signed to the base by the sculptor Jean Verschneider and bears the foundry mark Etling, Paris, one of the most renowned Parisian art foundries of the early 20th century. A fine example of Art Deco bronze statuary, it reflects the period’s fascination with naturalistic beauty and classical influence.
