About the Item

A wonderful French Turn of the Century Louis XVI st. patinated bronze, ormolu and Vert de Patricia marble statue named Moissonneur, by Maurice Constant. The statue is raised by a circular Vert de Patricia marble base with a fine mottled border. The ormolu socle support displays a front central plaque where the statue name and signature is displayed. The handsome man above, the "Moissonneur" which translates to harvester, is standing in a field. He is taking a break from harvesting the crops in the heat of the sun with his ormolu rake leaning against his arm and his hat in his hand.
