French pewter hat mold used for shaping a children’s Panama hat.
This highly sculptural piece was originally made for a French milliner and served as a working block for forming small straw hats for children or for festive occasions. Cast in solid pewter, it features beautifully detailed braided texture that faithfully imitates the weave of a traditional Panama hat. It rests on a slightly curved rectangular base, giving it a strong, almost architectural presence.
