A patinated bronze sculpture after German sculptor Otto Schmidt Hofer (1873-1925). Titled, "The Enemy Below." A figural work featuring a handsome nude male Greek warrior figure with sword and hoplite helmet at feet, raising a stone over his head to crush an opponent. Bears impressed signature to top of landscape form base.
Beautiful rich warm brown patina and a high quality casting are evident. A rare and desirable piece of sculpture.
