About the Item

A magnificent bronze Buddha in Rattanakosin style, mounted on a black lacquered wooden base. This is the Dhyana Mudra Buddha, or meditating Buddha. This object originates from Thailand, circa 1900. Dhyana Mudra, the meditation gesture, depicts both hands folded in the lap, with the right hand on top, palms and soles of the feet facing upward. Buddha symbolizes this gesture of inner meditation and tranquility. A meditating Buddha represents increased awareness, where the entire material world around us becomes irrelevant. This showpiece will bring peace to your interior, a real eye-catcher in the right lighting.
