About the Item

A unique and extremely decorative Italian 19th century Grand Tour Period patinated Bronze, Ormolu and marble statue of Gladiator. This wonderful statue is raised by a rectangular shaped and mottled Black Belgian and Rosso Antico marble base above Ormolu pawed supports. Above is a richly detailed Ormolu chariot with its Roman gladiator dressed in his uniform and wearing his helmet. In one hand the warrior is holding his whip while in the other he is holding the reins. At the front of the chariot are two richly detailed galloping horses in patinated Bronze with both front legs up in the air.
