A wonderful and richly detailed Italian 19th century white Carrara marble statue of the Kneeling Venus, signed A. Pettrich Setilopia. This stunning statue is raised on an oval base with the front signature and displaying a rocky surface. Venus above is kneeling while nude and seated on a charming seashell. The exceptionally executed Venus is caught in a moment of surprise during her bath with her arms crossed as a gesture of modesty, while displaying an elegant expression and with her hair tied in a bun.
