About the Item

A charming and very high quality Italian 19th century white Carrara marble statue titled "Amore Sdegnato". The title means "bitter love" and the statue is raised by a beautiful wonderfully executed ground designed base with stunning intricately detailed blooming flowers and a large rock above the inscription. The charming children are draped in remarkable flowing garments with the young girl standing on the rock and turning to kiss the young boy as he tries to escape. Exceptional attention to detail and lovely subject matter throughout.
