About the Item

A stunning and most charming Italian 19th century white Carrara marble statue. The statue is raised by a wonderfully executed ground designed base with a lovely flower and a beautiful tree trunk leading up the back. The statue depicts a brother and sister playing on a swing when one of the richly sculpted ropes breaks causing the brother to fall. The sister is dearly holding on to her brother to save him from falling while he has one hand holding the rope with the other extended to cushion his fall. Both are dressed in charming period attire and display exceptional attention to detail. Wonderful proportions and exquisite craftsmanship.
