About the Item
A unique and extremely decorative Italian 19th century Grand Tour Period patinated Bronze, Ormolu and Rouge Griotte marble statue of a Gladiator. This wonderful statue is raised by a rectangular shaped Rouge Griotte marble base above Ormolu ball feet. Above is a richly detailed Ormolu chariot with its Roman gladiator dressed in his uniform and wearing his helmet. In one hand the warrior is holding his whip while in the other he is holding the reins. At the front of the chariot are two richly detailed galloping horses in patinated Bronze with both front legs up in the air.
