About the Item
Unique Japanese contemporary decorative porcelain "kabuto" or helmet, hand painted in gold, red and blue colors. Kabuto dates back to 6th century. It was worn by ancient Japanese warriors and continued to be used by samurai in feudal Japan. In Noh theater elaborate kabutos are introduced in many famous plays.
Children's Day or Boys' Day in May is a national holiday celebrating boys in every family. On this day, many families decorate their homes with miniature kabuto or helmet, representing their hopes to raise strong and healthy boys. This stunning elaborately decorated porcelain kabuto is presented on a gold color cushion and backed by a folding two-panel screen.
It comes in a custom made box.
