Jean Jacques Pradier (1790-1852) Bronze Napoleon Bonaparte James Pradier (born Jean-Jacques Pradier, 1790–1852) was a Genevan-born French sculptor best known for his work in the neoclassical style, one of the primary artists of Napoleon's tomb, Les Invalides. This exceptional 19th-century French bronze full-length portrait of a standing Napoleon Bonaparte bronze figure by James Pradier. Napoleon is depicted wearing his famous bicorne hat, wearing a large gray coat, in full military dress with numerous medals, standing with his left foot forward and hands holding a collapsed spyglass. The sculpture has the incised signature of the artist on the base. Standing Standing 12.5 inches high, 5 inches wide, and 5.5 inches deep, Raised on a 4-inch wide x 3.5 inch deep base. The casting is as heavy and dense as an anchor, yet a highly detailed, flowing depiction of Napoleon Bonaparte at battle. This work is not just a sculpture but a testament to the enduring legacy of Napoleon Bonaparte and the artistry of one of France's foremost neoclassical sculptors.
