About the Item
Delightful French Limoges porcelain figure of a girl with a basket of fruit resting on her head by Jean-Jaques Prolongeau for Haviland and dating from the 1970's. The hollow figure is Scandinavian in style and is decorated in natural glazed white porcelain with molded decoration and facial and and hair detail. The figure carries a wide rounded bowl on her head laden with apples and pears. With printed Haviland Limoges marks to the base and impressed artist mark.
The figure is offered in good condition.

Exceptionally rare sea green gilded Holmegaard figural decanter and stopper designed in 1926 by Jacob Bang -The body of the decanter is his torso and legs -his arms are the twin handles and his head is the stopper-with the pourer formed into his collar. The similar female version of this decanter is documented in McConnels' Decanter book and an example resides in the Holmegaard Museum.
