Iconic , authentic and collectors item from the Pop Shop circa 1994 " Radiant Baby " inflatable art by Keith Haring. In original red box with some wear as seen in photos. inflatable baby folded and in original plastic. Image shown inflated is a stock photo. Keith Haring Pop Shop Inflatable Baby measures 20h x 24w x 5'd.
Originally sold at Keith Haring’s legendary Pop Shop, which was located in Soho, NYC from 1986 to 2005. Designed by Haring in 1985, this inflatable sculpture is made from white vinyl with a black outline.
Haring's crawling figure - dubbed "the radiant baby" by Rene Ricard - appeared in the artist's work as early as 1980, and is often considered one of Haring's most important visual motifs. By 1981 the image had become the signature tag for his subway graffiti, though he demurred in '83 when the New York Post asked if the image was a self-portrait. "Not necessarily," he replied, "it's more of an archetypal child. Any human".
