A large 19th century 'Grand Tour' bronze model of Narcissus after the antique.
Cast in bronze and finished with a soft light verdigris patina, this finely detailed sculpture depicts Narcissus, the mythological youth admired for his beauty and ultimately captivated by his own reflection. Shown in a gentle contrapposto stance, he looks downward with a calm, reflective expression. The harmonious proportions, idealized features, and subtle modeling echo the famous Roman example discovered in Pompeii and now housed in the Museo Archeologico Nazionale in Naples.
