About the Item

Beautiful and rare authentic and antique bronze standing Buddha from Thailand from the Rattanakosin period, a large specimen gilded with 24 carat gold leaf, circa mid 19th century, this object comes from a private collection. The Sunday Buddha, Pang Thawai Net, translates as “Seven Days of Inquiry”. This pose consists of a standing Buddha with crossed arms, with the right hand still covering the left. It represents a time shortly after the Buddha attained enlightenment after standing in front of a bodhi tree for seven consecutive days without blinking. This pose is called Pang Thawai Net, which translates as ‘7 days with the eyes open’, this showpiece will bring peace to your interior, a real eye-catcher with the right lighting. This statue is in very good antique condition, the object has a very nice age patina, check the photos for more details, they are part of the description. Dimensions: 15×14.5x63cm. Weight: 4.585kg.
